Shortbread Rings - recipe with photo

Shortbread Rings

A dessert that reminds one of childhood. Crunchy nuts and a delicate, crumbly dough make it very delicious! I recommend preparing this treat for your loved ones. In this recipe, I used salted roasted peanuts. The available ingredients yield 12-14 pieces.

  • butter 200 g
  • sugar 150 g
  • vanilla sugar 2 tsp
  • eggs 3
  • peanut 100-150 g
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • baking powder 1 tsp
  • flour 450-500 g

Instructions

Step 1 of 12

Cream the butter and sugar with vanilla sugar.

Step 2 of 12

Mix in the salt and eggs.

Step 3 of 12

Add the flour and baking powder, then knead the dough.

Step 4 of 12

Place the dough in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours.

Step 5 of 12

Roll out a sheet 5–8 mm thick.

Step 6 of 12

Cut out circles approximately 9 cm in diameter.

Step 7 of 12

Make a hole in the center about 2 cm in diameter. To help the nuts stick better, the pieces can be placed in the freezer for 10–15 minutes (it is acceptable to stack them on top of each other using plastic wrap for separation).

Step 8 of 12

Crush the nuts.

Step 9 of 12

Beat an egg.

Step 10 of 12

Brush each ring with the egg.

Step 11 of 12

Dip the brushed part into the crushed nuts.

Step 12 of 12

Prepare a baking pan: grease with oil or line with parchment paper. Arrange the rings and place them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 10–15 minutes.
