Bird Cherry Cake - recipe with photo

Bird Cherry Cake

I recommend purchasing ground bird cherry at a store to prepare this dessert. It has a unique taste and no equivalents; it is impossible to replace the main ingredient. These ingredients make 6-8 servings.

Ingredients

for 6 servings

  • ground bird cherry 150 g
  • milk 250 ml
  • sugar 200 g
  • egg 1
  • baking powder 2 tsp
  • flour 150-200 g
  • sour cream 400 g
  • sugar 150 g

Instructions

Step 1 of 10

Bring the milk to a boil.

Step 2 of 10

Pour the hot milk over the bird cherry. Stir and let it steep for 2 hours.

Step 3 of 10

Beat the egg with sugar.

Step 4 of 10

Stir the bird cherry into the mixture.

Step 5 of 10

Add baking powder and flour. Mix into a batter of medium thickness.

Step 6 of 10

Pour half of the batter into a baking pan (26 cm in diameter) greased with vegetable oil. Level the surface. Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 10–15 minutes. Check the cake layer with a toothpick (or match): if it comes out dry, it is ready. Bake two cake layers this way.

Step 7 of 10

Make the cream by whipping sour cream with sugar until the grains are completely dissolved.

Step 8 of 10

Apply a layer of cream to the first cake layer and level it.

Step 9 of 10

Cover with the second cake layer and spread cream on top.

Step 10 of 10

Decorate the cake as desired (the author used cocoa). Place the dessert in the refrigerator for 8–10 hours to soak properly.
